Jeffrey Scott Parker

In Memoriam

Jeffrey Scott Parker passed away after a brief illness on January 13, 2014. His early years were spent in Japan, Thailand, Virginia, Louisiana and California where he learned to love the water and water sports, especially fishing.

On June 12, 1983, Jeff married Donna Owen Boyer in Abilene, Texas. He moved his family to Austin in 1987 order to attend Southwest Texas State University. As a student working in the marine industry, Jeff turned his passion for fishing into a successful career; he and his family purchased Austin Boats and Motors in Lakeway, Texas in 1996. There he surrounded himself with his family and took great pride in their ability to work as a team, being proud that each of his children shared his dedication in building a successful family business. His son, Martin Boyer, succeeds Jeff as President of Austin Boats and Motors, with daughters Holly and Ashlea as part of the management team.

Jeff had a lifelong appreciation for the West Texas way of life, always wearing a cowboy hat and boots with pride while listening to Willie, Waylon, and the Boys. In addition to bass fishing, he loved riding bulls and coaching Pop Warner football.

There was nothing Jeff cherished more than being “Grandad” to his five grandchildren -Ashtyn, who turned him into a faithful churchgoer, Katelyn, Hudson, Marly and Landon. Jeff expressed his spirituality through his love of music and enjoyed volunteering in the church nursery.

Jeff is survived by his wife Donna; son Martin and wife Amanda; daughter Holly; daughter Robyn and husband Corey Hess; daughter Ashlea; daughter Faith and partner Pete Binion, all of the Austin area. Grandad adored his five grandchildren: Ashtyn, Katelyn, Hudson, Marly and Landon. He is survived by his father, Gerald of Lakeway; his mother, Nancy of Medina Lake; his sister Julie of San Antonio; brother John of Abilene.

Among the many customer testimonials on Austin Boats and Motors website, this one sums up what Jeff brought to the business and what his family will continue to uphold:

“Your whole staff has gone above and beyond what I could have ever expected. I have never had such unbelievable customer service with the purchase of anything. You’ve made a friend and customer for life. Thank you.”
